A Much Better Week

This has been a much better week- Madi is feeling good and happy again, Pierson is doing awesome riding his bike and loving it, happy kids, happy Mom.

Kathryn, my very fabulous-amazingly-talented-friend, who I don't know how I ever lived without, helped me make this...
...I absolutely love it and it looks so cute in Madi's room. And it cost me less than $2, thanks to Kathryn's help and "extra stuff". Nice.

And Ryan brought these home for me...
...so beautiful, so sweet, and the best part, FREE. He won them in a drawing. Way to go Babe.

Look At Him Go!

It was time- we finally took Pierson's training wheels off 2 weeks ago. He was a little nervous the first few days we practiced, but now he is doing awesome! He even starts off by himself and is so very proud he can do that. He is doing great and loves it! I have also been pleasantly surprised at how tough he has been when he has fallen, he jumps back up and hops right back on. He was so excited to ride his bike "all the way to Luke and Ellie's" yesterday.

"I looked out the window and what did I see"...

...So excited for spring! (Not so much for summer.) Pierce and Madi have been loving spotting all the trees with "popcorn" on them. I had to pick some blossoms off of a tree on our walk the other day and let them hold it, just so they could see it really isn't popcorn and they can't eat it. A little disappointing. (And this is the tree in my front yard, looking out my bathroom window, I really did look out the window and notice the blossoms and think of "popcorn popping".)

Crazy Hair Day

Pierson was quite excited for "Crazy Hair Day" at school. As soon as he heard his best friend, Grant, was going to make his hair red, he had to do it too. (Don't worry Bishop, the color has nothing to do with any football teams, just the color Kathryn had left from Halloween.) They looked pretty silly with their crazy RED hair...
Pierce & Grant

When I picked them up from school they looked even scarier- with bright red frosting all over their faces and fingers!

New Beginnings

In February I received a new calling to be the 1st councilor in Young Womens. I am so excited about it and am already loving it! (I had this calling in our old ward and loved it so much, I bawled for a week when they released me.) After the 1st activity I attended I came home telling Ryan how great it was going to be that I already felt so connected to the other leaders! I love them already and feel so lucky to be working with such amazing ladies. We are totally going to rock girls!

So... we jumped right into things with New Beginnings. We had a fabulous night. Everything went great and I was so happy with it. We had the priviledge of having our very own- beautiful, amazingly talented, Lyndsi Houskeeper- come and sing her theme song from her 2009 Music for Youth album, Be Thou An Example. She was, of course, incredible and it was so beautiful. Thank you Lyndsi! I just love you! Check her out at www.lyndsihouskeeper.com

Lyndsi & Melanie - Melanie played the piano and did a beautiful job as well, such beautiful & talented friends I have!

Bro. Massey, Bishop Brooks, Bro. Staheli - seriously love these guys! We are so lucky to have them! We also enjoyed a great talk by Bro. Staheli, and of course, a few witty comments from Bishop! It was great!

Me with my fabulous fellow YW leaders -
Jana, Me, Annica, April, Kara, Jennifer, Tonya - Love you girls!

Star Wars Party

Last week Pierson was SO excited to go to his friend, Luke's, Star Wars birthday party. He was ecstatic that the invitation said to bring your light saber to fight off Darth Vader. The night before he wrote a sentence for his homework that said:
"I am ixitid to go to a brthda parte that is star wrs."
I thought that was pretty good! (I love watching him sound out words!)
Then later that night as we were getting ready for bed and I was doing something terrible that he hates, (you know, like wiping his nose) he started whining about it and I told him he couldn't be a wimp if he was getting ready to fight Darth Vader.
He said, "Yeah I gotta brav-en up for the party tomorrow!"
I love it! What a great new word. It makes sense to me, if you gotta toughen up, you might as well "braven" up too!
He had the best time at the party and was so thrilled to be able to fight "Dark Vader" with his "light saver".
Thanks Lynds!
