Parade of Homes

Saturday Ryan and I headed out to hit a few of the parade homes. The homes were interesting and fun to see -lots of fun ideas, most of which we are too late for. But we had the most fun riding in this...
Our friend/realtor/comedian, Jeremy Larkin, invited us to go cruisin' in the shuttle, AKA the REO Speedwagon! We joined Jeremy and his wife Megan, and friends Allison and Vasu, along with a few of their friends, and my good friend Katie Melo. There were 10 of us on board, plus a wee babe, and we had a great time. Complimentary entertainment the whole time, courtesy of Jeremy's comedy show. It was great! I think I had more fun in the shuttle than in any of the homes.Jeremy, the shuttle pilot/entertainer

Vasu, the trusty co-pilot

This was one of my fav ideas and something I want to do, (when we can afford our backyard.) Jeremy here is giving you an idea of the fun the kids could have with this. So not just a trampoline in the ground, but sand underneath and a slide that gets you down there. What a great idea this was. OK so you do have to be careful and monitor, no jumping while in the sand. But I thought it was brilliant - first of all because you can get underneath the tramp to keep it clean, and second, awesome hideaway for the kids, sand pile included. The best idea I came away with!

We are looking forward to the shuttle next year, especially with the planned upgrades! Thanks guys, it was fun! I wanted to get a group photo, but it didn't happen. Next year....

Just Being Boys

We had a fun day at the park last week with my fabulous friend, Lyndsi, and her cute kids. Cute Luke is right in between my kids' ages and he is a great friend for both of them. They both love playing with him! Pierce and Luke had a great time playing at the park together, just doing what they do best...

Very in character, they were being knights

One Sweet Weekend

We had a great Valentine's weekend - my Dad and his wife, Susan, and her two boys came to stay with us while they were in town for a baseball tournament. My kids adore Jack and Sam and had so much fun with them. On Friday we hit one of Sam's baseball games and then enjoyed a yummy dinner at Pizza Factory.
Pierce & Jack at the ball game - both kids constantly want to sit in Jack's lap or sit by him

Fun at the Pizza Factory - I love Jack's face sitting perfectly in the bread twists in this pic!

Saturday we caught another of Sam's ball games, then I got Madi down for a nap and went to work on my sugar cookie dough. Making holiday sugar cookies is one of my favorite things! I love sharing the tradition with my kids, making them with my Mom is one of my favorite memories of her. Her's were the best ever! I think mine come in a close 2nd. Sprinkles, Sprinkles & MORE SPRINKLES!

Annie & Madi
Our greatest friends, The Woodbury's, joined us for some cookie decorating, the kids had so much fun and went to town with the sprinkles and conversation hearts!

Pierce & Grant
We had a great night decorating and eating cookies and having a yummy dinner. It was fun to have my Dad, Susan, Jack and Sam with us for the weekend. The kids had fun making Valentine cards for them and had tons of fun playing with all of them.
Great food, great cookies, great friends, great company, great weekend!

Melt My Heart

I always let Madi watch a show while I do my hair and makeup in the morning. A few days ago, I had finshed getting ready and I was surprised she hadn't come upstairs to find me yet, I knew the show had to be over. I couldn't hear anything - which is usually a bad sign - so I hurried down to check on her and this is what I found...

...sweetest thing ever! She was just catching up on her reading of the "Friend"! It was so adorable I had to take a picture and she just kept "reading"! It was so cute, made my day!

Sunshine of the Week!

Pierson was SO excited to be the "Sunshine of the Week" in his Kindergarten class this week. When it's their turn they get to be the leader and the helper and sit in a special chair and wear a crown. They get to take a poster to display all week, and on Friday the Moms and Dads get to come to class. He loved being the sunshine and was so excited for Ryan and I to come to his class. I read a story to the class and we played musical chairs, which the kids had so much fun playing. He also took Ryan's stethoscope for his "show and teach" and the kids thought it was so cool. We had cookies and juice for the kids and that was, of course, a hit. Pierson was so happy and it made him feel so special.

Pierson's poster, which I spent way too much time making! But it turned out so cute!

All the kids enjoying their treats
Madi was ecstatic to go to brother's class, and she just thought she was one of the big kids. She HAD to wear her backpack to brother's school and she even loaded it up with books.

Pierson's teacher, Mrs. Barrett. She is a fantastic teacher, I am so glad he is in her class. Madi thinks she is pretty great too, after hearing brother always talking about her. When we pick Pierce up from school Madi is often yelling out the window "Bye Mrs. Bay-yett". Of course she wanted to be in the picture with Mrs "Bay-yett" too! She had a ball visiting brother's class!
